There are multiple areas to consider in this.ฤก) The basics of multidisc approaches, which will be per platform and might well have trouble games. JaapDaniels above took the basics and it does vary between platform, though things with CDs (or more generally file systems) are far far far easier than any non specialist flash cart might be on most cartridge based things older than the DS and thus can be spoken of in a more generalised manner.
